In three-straight races leading into this one House Arrest has finished second and the horse looms as the obvious choice here. From the perfect draw it will be right in the contest and no other animal boasts anything even close to it’s top line form.

Race 1 tip: House Arrest to win at William Hill

Race 2 – Benchmark 58 (2000m)

Sommernachtstraum is racing in great form this campaign. Upon resumption the horse won at Healesville and has gone on to record back-to-back second placings by a combined total of six parts of a length. Sommernachtstraum is the best horse in the field.

Race 2 tip: Sommernachtstraum to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

Cherax has placed second two times in a row and has made headway with both of those starts. The galloper has a decent record of three placings from eight attempts at this distance and will be right around the mark to breakthrough at the 12th time of asking.

Race 3 tip: Cherax to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1400m)

Immaculate Secret will look to go forward and pinch this from the front. The horse has placed in both runs and will look to continue that great streak here. The concern is barrier ten but it has enough early speed to overcome.

Race 4 tip: Immaculate Secret to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Class 1 Handicap (1100m)

Lakota drops in class after a resuming third at Geelong on January 28. The Hawkes runner won well on debut at Geelong and we think it will strip a lot fitter from the first-up run. Lakota is the horse to beat.

Race 5 tip: Lakota to win at Neds

Race 6 – Benchmark 58 (1600m)

My Running Mate steps up in class here but the form is rock-solid. The horse has delivered four wins from its last six runs, and drops a monumental amount of weight. The gate is good and we’re backing it in to deliver.

Race 6 tip: My Running Mate to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (1400m)

Only narrowly beaten upon resumption, Eagle Spirit looks well placed to breakthrough here for its second career win. The horse has placed second-up in the past and was only a nose away at this level from winning on February 1.

Race 7 tip: Eagle Spirit to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 58 (1000m)

Hot pace from out wide will see Captain Crackerjak find the front and attempt to win form the front. The horse has been within a length across its last two starts. We’re backing Captain Crackerjak in to send investors home happy.

Race 8 tip: Captain Crackerjak to win at Crownbet
