Wednesday quaddie form and tips at Warwick Farm, June 15

quaddie of the week

QUADDIE betting is back on Wednesday at Warwick Farm and it’s a bumper card for punters. The four legs will feature an intriguing two-year-old event which kicks things off, and also three handicap races which wouldn’t look out of place on a Saturday,

Getting involved in the quaddie is as easy as signing up to a bookmaker and adding your desired runners to a betslip. The potential payouts are massive and even a quaddie where all four favourites win is worth striking.

Leg 1 – 2YO Maiden (1000m)

Kris Lees lines up Guard Of Honour which gets the services of Hugh Bowman following a poor effort on debut. Its run for sixth in a six-horse field wasn’t fantastic, but it came in the Canonbury Stakes and this is much easier. The heavy track might not have helped and it will pay to follow any positive moves in the betting.

Spending To Win is a well-bred colt by Snitzel and it’s trained by Peter and Paul Snowden who can do no wrong with their youngsters at the moment. The two-year-old has some astute owners which have had some quality runners in recent history. They typically start their careers well, so include Spending To Win in quaddie bets.

Fanning ran a good time when fifth on debut at Gosford. The Clarry Connors-trained gelding finished just over a length behind the winner and there is improvement expected. The son of I Am Invincible gets Blake Shinn in the saddle which is a telling sign.

Leg 1 quaddie tips: 3, 5, 7

Leg 2 – McGrath Estate Agents R67 (1600m)

Our Beatnik is a former New Zealand runner which only battled behind a similar field last start, but it looked impressive winning back-to-back races prior. The four-year-old gelding is now with Chris Waller and it will likely need a dry track to show its best, but consider at an each way price in this.

Hand From Above could add some value to the quaddie payout. The Snowden-trained gelding finished 11th of 13 runners at Rosehill last start, but the track was cutting out and Warwick Farm should be more evenly. Its form prior included strong placings behind Iron George and Invincible Knight and although it will carry 61.5kg, it has the class.

Young jockey Koby Jennings is riding well and he lines up with Mr Smart. The six-year-old gelding is struggling to win a race, but it performs best at this distance and the 2kg claim will help its chances. We’re expecting a double-figure price which will boost that potential payout.

Leg 2 quaddie tips: 2, 4, 5

Leg 3 – Tab More Than Just Winning R71 (1400m)

Godolphin line up Spiced which won well two starts back at Wyong before battling on solidly at Warwick Farm last start. It wasn’t suited by the slow tempo last time out as it likes to roll along midfield, but conditions should favour it here and we’re expecting a big effort.

Last start winner Magicaz is two-win filly which has plenty of upside. The Con Karatatsanis-trained filly is unbeaten in two starts at this distance and although it has no wet track form, the conditions should be better than in recent weeks. It has drawn nicely in barrier two and going skinny with only two runners in leg three is a good way to keep the cost down.

Leg 3 quaddie tips: 4, 6

Leg 4 – Pro-Ride R67 Handicap (1300m)

First Precinct must be respected after back-to-back victories. The three-year-old is owned by the astute China Horse Club and it has improved significantly at its last two starts. Jockey Tommy Berry takes over the riding from Christian Reith and we see that only as a positive.

Centro Superior finished off nicely behind Magnajoy last start and it has form on this track. The Gregory Hickman-trained gelding has won only two from 19, but it has placed a further 10 times and it can handle any easing in the track conditions. Hugh Bowman takes over from apprentice Winona Costin and the stronger rider should help.

Include Fortune Patch in calculations. The Michael Moroney-trained gelding didn’t fire when well-backed last start, but it showed enough prior to warrant inclusion. It finished second in consecutive starts behind Steamin’ and the unbeaten city winner Bullrush. That form should stack up and it only needs luck from the wide barrier.

Leg 4 quaddie tips: 6, 7, 12
