Warwick Farm tips & form for Wednesday, January 17

WARWICK Farm is hosting racing this Wednesday as mid-week gallops action returns to Sydney.

Punters will have plenty of options on hump day, and we believe we have the winning formula in the harbour city.

Let’s take a look at which horses we’re running with at the Farm.

Race 1 – Benchmark 71 (1400m)

Kissing Game has finished in the first-two in back-to-back events and looks well placed to get back into the winner’s circle on Wednesday. The horse was far from disgraced last time out at Randwick, claiming second in its benchmark debut and we believe it has the ability to progress through the grades nicely.

Race 1 tip: Kissing Game to win at Sportsbet

Race 2 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)

League Of Nations is looking to continue it’s consistent form. The horse has placed in back-to-back events, going down by less than a length and a half on both occasions. The Medaglia D’oro gelding can breakthrough here in a weaker field.

Race 2 tip: League Of Nations to win at Neds

Race 3 – Benchmark 75 (1000m)

Anna’s Joy is resuming after a lengthy break and on its top-tier form it is taking this race out. The horse has won twice and only went down by a clean length in the race it didn’t salute in. We are backing it in to make a winning resumption.

Race 3 tip: Anna’s Joy to win at Neds

Race 4 – Benchmark 72 (1200m)

Witches is a last-start winner that can go on with the job here. The horse resumed well around this grade on New Years Day and it has previously placed second-up in the past. From a decent gate the horse can win to make it two on the trot.

Race 4 tip: Witches to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Benchmark 79 (1600m)

Prometheus is seeking a hat-trick of wins here and is well placed to win its third-straight race. The horse ran brilliantly last time out at Kembla at a slightly lesser grade than it confronts on Wednesday and we are backing it in to do the business.

Race 5 tip: Prometheus to win at Ladbrokes

Race 6 – Benchmark 70 (1300m)

Rumba Queen is rising steeply in grade here but after a strong win at Moruya last time out the go-forward type will be heavily favoured here. We expect it to attempt to lead from barrier five and win it from the front.

Race 6 tip: Rumba Queen to win at Crownbet

Race 7 – Benchmark 70 (1400m)

Travancore won well at BM74U level, and while barrier 12 is a hindrance, it may favour the horse’s usual tendency to float back through the field. If it can get a great run in transit we believe it will take this race out easily.

Race 7 tip: Travancore to win at Crownbet
