The sun will be shining over Warwick Farm on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 with the track at a Good 4 for this week’s Sydney metro races. Seven races will be run and won with the rail going back into the true position after Warwick Farm’s last meeting two weeks ago. We think there will be a slight bias towards the inside part of the track, which we have factored into our Warwick Farm tips.
Gerald Ryan’s 2yo, Macleay, caught the eye in a Rosehill trial back on the 6th of April and duly went on to win his maiden at Kembla Grange 3 weeks ago. The son of Ready for Victory has since been gelded and we think he can make it back to back wins to start his racing career. From gate 3, Tommy Berry can sit just off the speed and utilise the horse’s strong finish.
Next Best Bet – Race 5Faretti $3.80 at Bet365
Possibly Australia’s best trialler, Faretti has struggled to replicate this work to race days. In saying this, he too has undergone the ultimate gear chance since its last start and looks to have started to put it all together. Adam Hyeronimus should box seat on the 3yo gelding from barrier 3 and finish strongly over the top of what looks to be a strong speed battle. Waterhouse and Bott strike and imposing record at Warwick Farm with a winning strike rate of 24%. We think the son of I am Invincible can start this campaign off on a winning foot.
Value bet – Race 6Ruthless Agent $4.80 at Bet365
A race with plenty of speed looks to set it up beautifully for the 6yo Ruthless Agent. Coming off a solid first up effort when held up for most of the straight, the rise in trip to 1400m looks to suit the Kurt Goldman runner here. Sam Clipperton should settle towards the tail of the field from barrier and look to run home strongly. Some Australian online bookmakers have Ruthless Agent priced at a juicy $18.
