Race 1 – All Too Hard @ Vinery Handicap (1100m)

Star of Africa has been to the trials on four occasions for two wins and a placing. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained three-year-old scored by a short margin last start at the Randwick trials and the Newgate team usually gets them running early on. Betting will indicate its winning chances, but we’re expecting the money to be on.

Epic Rant was scratched from racing on Sunday and it lines up in a much harder field here. That’s a good sign for the Waterhouse/Bott-trained colt which ran a close third on debut behind Veranillo. It didn’t have much luck during the run after sitting wide and it should lob into a nice position from barrier three here.

Race 2 – Tabcorp Handicap (1100m)

Nai’a is on debut for James Cummings and its trial form reads well. The filly by Lonhro finished second at its first trial, but it produced the goods when beating a handy trial field at Rosehill. It defeated subsequent debut winner Woman by over a length and that form looks red hot for this.

Ready for Love ran a good time on debut and it should be paying nice each way odds for this. The Joe Pride-trained filly by Pluck ran 58.03 over 1000m at Gosford and despite being beaten, that time should hold up at this level. The in-form Brenton Avdulla takes the ride so watch betting moves closely.

Race 2 tip: Nai’a to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 3 – Schweppes Handicap (1400m)

Tangmere looks the best of the Chris Waller charge. The royally-bred son of Frankel x. Our Echezeaux will have plenty of admirers on debut after winning a trial at Rosehill. That came over a nice field and it has been patiently handled for this run. The Frankel progeny are starting to hit top gear after maturing and we’re expecting short odds to be available.

Stablemate Improvise had supporters on debut at Warwick Farm when paying $5.50 and it wasn’t far away from them. The filly by Hinchinbrook finished a length behind Our Mantra, but it did have every chance to win in the straight. It will be fitter for this and it could down its stablemate.

Race 4 – Tab Rewards Handicap (2200m)

Social Element rises up in grade for this, but comes into the race with consecutive wins under its belt. The four-year-old by Savabeel won at Newcastle by almost two lengths and repeated the dose last start at Warwick Farm. It makes its own luck by going forward and it could slow this small field up and kick strongest in the straight.

Exoteric ran on well behind Social Element last start and its form prior came in harder grades than this. The Waller-trained five-year-old had finished well down the track behind the likes of Mana and Street Pursuit, but there were good signs last start and this is easier. Barrier one will be ideal.

Race 4 tip: Social Element to win at Bet365.com

Race 5 – Theraces Handicap (1200m)

Regimen looks like a real professional having won two of its three starts. The daughter of Sepoy won on debut at Gosford before winning by two lengths at Canterbury in August. That was a classy win and although it finished second last start, the added experience will go a long way. It has been well-found in the market to date and we’re expecting similar for this run.

Atom Eve has been off the scene since January due to a bone chip removal, but it looks in good order for this. The Norm Gardner-trained mare won a Highway Handicap earlier this year before running seventh behind Invincible Gem at Rosehill. Gardner is confident it will return in good order and it could be at each way value.

Race 5 tip: Regimen to win at Topbetta.com.au

Race 6 – McGrath Estate Agents Handicap (1100m)

Realise Potential is knocking on the door after running second behind subsequent winner Nictock two starts back and Rebel Miss last start. The Pride-trained sprinter hasn’t won for awhile now which is a concern, but this looks an easier target and it has its foot on the till.

Parlay Vous built nicely towards the win last start and it could kick on with it now. The John O’Shea-trained four-year-old only won at Hawkesbury against class 2 opposition, but its form prior came behind the likes of Lubiton and Kings of Leon. That’s strong form and the son of Jimmy Choux could go back-to-back.

Race 6 tip: Realise Potential to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Australian Turf Club Handicap (1600m)

Savapinski has won twice from three starts for the Waterhouse/Bott team and it couldn’t have been more impressive last start. The four-year-old scored by 2.5 lengths at Wyong over a solid field and staying at the mile looks ideal. It has drawn awkwardly in barrier nine, but it has the experience this campaign and it looks a nice midweek type in the making.

Ataraxia hasn’t done much wrong in four starts so far and it comes into this with a win under its belt. The Cummings-trained colt scored well at Newcastle and the rise in distance looked ideal for the son of Teofilo. Betting will indicate its winning chances here.

Race 7 tip: Ataraxia to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 8 – Tab Handicap (1400m)

Regent looks to have good ability and it will get every chance from the inside draw. The son of Lonhro won on debut at Canterbury before finishing sixth behind Taking Aim in the Ken Russell Stakes. It returned to racing when running second last start and it arguably should have won with a better ride. Hugh Bowman is in the saddle now and that should make a big difference.

The Avenger scored a quality two-length win at Gosford last start and it could go on with the job. The Waller-trained four-year-old finished second at its two starts prior to that win with a placing behind the talented Magalangur on debut. That form should stack up well and it’ll be tough to beat.

Race 8 tip: Regent to win at Sportsbet.com.au
