Warrnambool tips & form for Thursday, March 15
RACING returns to the ‘Bool this Thursday and we’re pumped for the meet.
There’s a full eight race card on the agenda so let’s take a look at which runners we’re favouring.

Race 1 – Benchmark 125 (3450m)

I’ll’ava’alf is a quality chaser that has placed at this distance before. The experienced runner ran well at Colac last-start and will be hard to hold out here.

Race 2 – Maiden Hurdle (3200m)

Getting Leggie finished second at Stawell last time out and trialed over the hurdles well in preparation for that run. That bodes well for a strong run here.

Grassini had a trial run over the hurdles here which it took out by a huge margin, and we think it will be hard to hold out here. The horse had a run on the flat on March 4, which also yielded a win. Cannot deny winning form.

Race 4 – Maiden (2000m)

Unresolved’s form reads as good as any heading into this one. In its last three runs the horse has placed and finished inside the first-four, which is better than the majority of the field.

Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (2000m)

Rondalago has an ordinary gate to contend with but looms as a great chance here. The horse won at this level two starts back and placed last-start at a higher level. Rondalago has a win at this distance, so conditions favour.

Race 6 – Benchmark 58 (1700m)

The promising filly Inspirante looks poised to go back-to-back here. The Aaron Purcell-trained runner won by two and a half lengths last time out and there’s no reason to doubt it cannot repeat the dose here.

Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (1400m)

Nimbostratus resumes after a five month break and the gelding has a first-up win in the past. The horse has a win at the 1400m distance in the past and this race appears within its grasp.

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1100m)

Aluf has the ability to spear out from barrier four and win this from the front. The horse only narrowly missed out by a short head last-start and from a good draw it will be hard to beat.
