Race 1 – Maiden (2000m)

High Energy has placed in both of its two career starts to date and looms as a winning threat at the third time of asking. The horse made great headway from the debut run to the last-start third and we’re backing it in here.

Race 1 tip: High Energy to win at William Hill

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1100m)

Langerfeld was decent on debut, finishing just one and a half lengths off the winner at this venue. With natural improvement we feel the horse can get the job done in a field where not a lot stands out.

Race 2 tip: Langerfeld to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden (1300m)

If Hot Shot Harry lines up here it should be taking out this race. The horse has been right around the mark across its last two starts and gets its chance here in a maiden where not a lot else stands out.

Race 3 tip: Hot Shot Harry to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden (1400m)

Paradise Cove only missed out by two parts of a length last time out and we think it can go one better on that last-start second. The five-year-old has been consistent as of late, recording two placings from its last three attempts. We think it can finally salute at the 15th time of asking.

Race 4 tip: Paradise Cove to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (2350m)

All Well gets a slight penalty in the weights following a strong win at the ‘bool and will be hard to hold out here. The horse gets the benefit of the inside draw in a large field and will enjoy the claim.

Race 5 tip: All Well to win at William Hill

Race 6 – Benchmark 70 (1700m)

Purrfect Trick is the horse to beat here. In its last three runs it has finished second twice before a last-start win at this level at Colac.

Race 6 tip: Purrfect Trick to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Benchmark 64 (1300m)

With a little more luck Along Came Jones could be chasing a fourth-straight win. A luckless run saw the horse finish third last-start, but before that it recorded comfortable back-to-back wins. We’re expecting a bounce-back performance.

Race 7 tip: Along Came Jones to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1100m)

Written Attraction returns in the final event boasting a record of one win and a placing from four attempts. The horse trialed leading into this and will be fitter for that turnout. The Written Tycoon mare is the galloper to beat.

Race 8 tip: Written Attraction to win at Crownbet
