Race 1 – BM70 Handicap (1100m)

Calculated is fresh up for Chris Waller after a promising campaign. The son of So You Think won its maiden over Brave Song in July before running second in a strong race at Rosehill. He did nothing in the Up & Coming Stakes, but this is much easier.

Awesome Pluck has been well-backed at $2.90 with bookmakers. The debut winner at Taree scored by 5.5 lengths on that occasion before running third at Warwick Farm behind Manicure. This isn’t any easier here, but it looked good at the trials and it gets some weight advantage on the favourite.

Race 1 tip: Calculated to win ($2.70) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Highway Handicap (1000m)

Victorem comes into this race off a spell and consecutive wins. The Jenny Graham-trained three-year-old scored by just over four lengths at Kempsey before winning again at Grafton last start. That came in July, but there has been some positive movement in the betting.

Takookacod was a touch unlucky at Rosehill last start behind Volpe, but this should be easier. The three-year-old filly gets in with only 51kg on its back after the claim from Blaike McDougall and that makes her tough to beat.

Race 2 tip: Takookacod to win ($8.50) at Neds.com.au

Race 3 – Christmas Cup (2400m)

Broadside is the dominating $1.75 favourite following its win at Rosehill in the ATC Cup. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner scored by two lengths over Lord Kingsley and that form should stack up well for this. He was good enough to run in the Metropolitan and that’s a better form line than its opposition here.

Vassal could represent some value at $5. The Waller-trained stayer has been around the mark all campaign, which included a win two starts back and despite showing some inconsistencies, he’s a chance.

Race 3 tip: Broadside to win ($1.75) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 4 – Inglis Nursery (1000m)

Irish Bet looked good at its only trial and punters should respect the trainer/owner combination. The John O’Shea-trained colt is owned by China Horse Club and he looks like an impressive type in the making. The lack of race experience won’t help, but follow any positive market moves.

Miss Invincible was gallant in defeat at Rosehill last start after being taken on up front and battling on well for second. The daughter of I Am Invincible sped to the lead and was tackled only late in the race. It will be better for the experience and bookmakers are keeping her safe.

Race 4 tip: Irish Bet to place ($2) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 5 – BM84 Handicap (1200m)

In Times of War hasn’t been a punters best friend this season, but the talent is there. The Waller-trained runner has shown its best form at midweek level and that might be telling in Saturday grade. It’s rarely too far away from the action, but more is expected now.

Sugar Bella has won three of its four starts, including a 2.8-length win at Canterbury last start. The Kris Lees-trained mare returned to the track after 18 months off and it looked as though she had never left. It’s not easy to win second up after the break, but the $3.60 is a value price.

Race 5 tip: Sugar Bella to win ($3.60) at Neds.com.au

Race 6 – BM84 Handicap (1600m)

Sedanzer has been in great form this campaign, winning both starts in fine style. The five-time winner from 11 starts was good enough to run in the Schweppes Oaks and that form is starting to stack up nicely. Stepping up in distance should only help its chances.

Dreamforce scored just as impressively last start when beating Our Belisa by 2.5 lengths. The John Thompson-trained gelding is nicely bred and its form could continue to stay strong for the rest of this campaign. Has been well-backed in early markets.

Race 6 tip: Sedanzer to win ($3.40) at Neds.com.au

Race 7 – Villiers Stakes (1600m)

Interlocuter has rewarded punters on many occasions this season and they’re getting a great price this time around. The James Cummings-trained import is currently $3.40, which is a great price considering he has looked impressive in winning his last three starts. We’re not expecting that price to stay around long considering his weight of 54.5kg.

There has been a good amount of money for Mister Sea Wolf, which ran well for second in its Australian debut. The six-year-old is trained by Chris Waller and it produced a good finish behind Testashadow in the Festival Stakes last start. Looks capable and the $5.50 is a fair price.

Race 7 tip: Interlocuter to win ($3.40) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 8 – Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m)

Calanda hasn’t won for a while now, but it tried hard last start at Doomben. The Snowden-trained son of Snitzel was a winner on this track in July when beating subsequent winner Sir Plush and that form should hold up nicely. Looks a strong chance in an even field.

I Thought So is a dual-acceptor, but if it lines up here, it looks a strong chance. The talented four-year-old has won only two from 11 starts, but running third in the MSS Security Stakes is great form at this level. It’s about time he showed his true form.

Race 8 tip: I Thought So to win ($4.60) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 9 – BM82 Handicap (1400m)

Redouble might have lost some admirers last start, but the Bjorn Baker-trained runner could bounce back. It bounced back after a health problem four starts back with consecutive wins and a return to that form takes it close.

Malaise returned with a handy placing last start and not much went its way in transit. The Cummings-trained son of Helmut was four wide throughout and still gave a good kick to the line. It should get a better run here and be tough to hold out.

Race 9 tip: Malaise to win ($5.50) at Sportsbet.com.au
