Race 1 – Tab Highway Handicap C2 (1200m)

Isla Tristana flew home late to win a similar race last start and it could be worth following. The Matthew Dunn-trained filly produced a big sprint to score over race-rival Absolute Ripper last start and it drops in weight to 53kg. It will head back from the wide draw and adopt similar tactics at $3.70 in the betting.

Absolute Ripper drops down 2.5kg following its second placing last start and that could make the difference. The Alison Smith-trained mare was a five-length winner at Orange before running into Isla Tristana last start, but with the weight drop it could turn the tables. It has drawn to feature and it’s getting respected at $3.20.

Tiger By The Tale hasn’t quite performed at Rosehill to date, but it was finishing well last start. The five-year-old ran third behind Isla Tristana and Absolute Ripper which suggests it is a place chance again.

Race 1 tip: Absolute Ripper to win ($3.20) at Bet365.com

Race 2 – Ainsworth Game Technology Handicap (1600m)

Unbiased didn’t figure at Rosehill last start, but its form prior was good enough. The John O’Shea-trained gelding finished second at Rosehill prior in a solid showing and Tim Clark rides from the inside barrier. Will get a nice run at the $5.50 suggests it can win.

Stablemate Moher gets a 3kg claim from Nick Heywood which takes it down to 59kg after finishing fourth behind Snoopy last start. The four-year-old ran well behind the subsequent Melbourne winner and it was able to put back-to-back wins together prior to that. Nice chance at $4.40.

The current $3.20 favourite is Redoutable Heart which scored a nice win over Sir Plush last start. The Chris Waller-trained gelding has been well-backed in both starts this campaign and it continues to give punters a good sight. Yet to win at Randwick, but it looks a strong chance.

Race 2 tip: Moher to win ($4.40) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 3 – Inglis Nursery (1000m)

Vinland was well supported in its debut at Sandown, but the Tony McEvoy-trained colt only battled home. That was a tough starting point for the two-year-old by Sebring and with Hugh Bowman in the saddle, expect a more improved performance. $4.60 with bookmakers.

She Will Reign was a classy winner on debut and there is plenty of hype surrounding this filly. The Gary Portelli-trained filly won by 8.3 lengths at Kembla Grange when it ran as the $1.80 favourite. It’s at similar odds for this at $1.95 and punters are excited about what it could offer.

Serena Bay is unbeaten from two starts for the Waterhouse/Bott stables and the tactics won’t be a surprise. The Sebring filly will head forward from barrier six and it will set a hot tempo with only 54kg on its back. Expect a top effort from a handy filly.

Race 3 tip: She Will Reign to win ($1.95) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 4 – Segenhoe Cup (1200m)

Upscale hasn’t done much wrong in winning four of its first seven starts. The Kris Lees-trained mare scored a tough win last start at Rosehill and it will get all favours from the inside draw. From there it will settle on the pace and kick gamely at odds of $6.50.

Kinshachi opened at $4 and has firmed into $3.80 following a last start win at Canterbury. The John O’Shea-trained mare has an impressive record of eight starts for three wins and five placings, which makes it a popular elect with punters. It rises well up in grade for this, but it looks tough to beat.

Imposing Lass has won four from seven and it has won and placed fresh up. The Bjorn Baker-trained mare finished sixth in the Queensland Oaks at its most recent start and although this is short of its best, it won by four lengths over 1400m last campaign. Chance at $11.

Race 4 tip: Upscale to place ($2.40) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 5 – Fugen Christmas Cup (2400m)

Soviet Courage produced a big finish to score at Rosehill last start and it’s a past winner on this track. The Waller-trained gelding is also a three-time winner at this distance so it will see out the 2400m. It can handle all track conditions and bookmakers are respecting its chances at $5.

Stablemate Beyond Thankful is currently paying $5.50 following its run for second in the ATC Cup at Rosehill. The seven-year-old is finding it hard to win a race, but this looks a suitable target and it won’t have to improve much to figure in the finish.

Lord van Percy is a five-win gelding which didn’t have the best of luck when fifth in the Pakenham Cup. The Weir-trained gelding had the ability to finish fifth in the Herbert Power behind Big Memory and that form shouldn’t be overlooked. Not the worst at $11.

Race 5 tip: Soviet Courage to win ($5) at WilliamHill.com.au

Race 6 – Inglis Sprint (1100m)

Tony McEvoy lines up Manuel which was an impressive 10-length winner at Geelong last start. The son of Commands easily dealt with the maiden field having contested in much higher company prior to that. It recently finished third in a trial and it could run well at odds of $4 after opening at $3.80.

Super Too was relatively underrated last preparation when it won consecutive races before running well in two starts at Flemington. The Marc Connors-trained filly ran fourth in the Cap D’Antibes behind Kentucky Miss and then second behind Spright in the Red Roses. That’s good form and the light weight helps. Chance at $4.60.

Miss Debutante has looked like a nice up-and-comer after consecutive wins leading into this. The speedy Fastnet Rock filly ran a good time last start when winning at Gosford and although this is a massive rise in class, its odds of $4.60 suggests it’s one of the main winning chances.

Race 6 tip: Super Too to win ($4.60) at CrownBet.com.au

Race 7 – Inglis Villiers Stakes (1600m)

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Pajaro has been well-backed from $15 into $11. The six-year-old has had two runs this preparation which included a fourth in the November Stakes and it rarely runs a bad race on this track. It can fire when it’s paying double-figure odds so watch the market for any further movement.

Fabrizio is the clear class horse in the field after demoralising its opponents at its last two starts. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding won by 4.3 lengths at Randwick two back before winning the Cup Day Plate by a similar margin last start. It will head forward and create the pace, and it’s a tough gelding to run down. $3.10 is a good price after it opened at $3.

Hazzabeel comes into this having run second in the Festival Stakes and it took out the Kilmore Cup before that. The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding stays at a nice weight of 54.5kg and it could threaten the top market chances. Each way odds available at $8.50.

Race 7 tip: Fabrizio to win ($3.10) at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 8 – Green Options Razor Sharp Stakes (1200m)

Weatherly is an interesting runner for Paul Messara which won the Talindert Stakes in fine style. The three-year-old colt finished sixth on debut in the Blue Diamond Preview and it finished third out of four horses in the Todman Stakes. It’s tough to line up that form, but it gets the inside draw with a light weight so it must be respected at $7.

Kuro returned to its form of old last start when winning the Starlight Stakes at Rosehill. The Joe Pride-trained gelding is a seven-time winner which has cut it with the best and having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is a big addition. It’s currently at a nice price of $6 which is good value.

On the same line of betting is Grunderzeit which defeated Kuro last start. The John O’Shea-trained gelding won by 1.5 lengths at Canterbury and it has since been freshened with a trial. It’s a four-time winner at this distance and it gets in with a handy weight of 54kg.

Race 8 tip: Kuro to win ($6) at Bet365.com

Race 9 – JLT & QBE Surf Lifesaving Handicap (1400m)

Sir Plush has drawn wide for this, but it has enough gate speed to warrant attention. The four-year-old has been in consistent form this campaign which featured a win at Rosehill followed by three consecutive placings. Should run well at $5.50 in the market after opening at $6.

Three-time winner Dark Steel was a narrow winner three back at Kembla Grange before running well in two city starts since. The Snowden-trained horse has yet to win or placed on this track and at this distance, but the betting suggests it should be included.

Sonic Swish has been in solid form with a win coming three back on this track over a similar field. The Waller-trained gelding goes best on a dry track so conditions should suit and it has been well-backed at $6. Looks one of the better chances.

Race 9 tip: Sir Plush to win ($5.50) at CrownBet.com.au
