Trainer Mark Thomas fined $5000
Victorian trainer Mark Thomas has been fined $5000 for improper conduct after a verbal altercation with fellow trainer Shannon Hope while in possession of a firearm.
The incident took place at the stables of Lee and Shannon Hope on October 9 last year and Thomas pleaded guilty to the conduct charge at a Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing on Thursday.
The RAD Board noted Thomas gave an undertaking that he would not challenge the proposed decision of Victoria Police to cancel his firearm licence.
