Tosen Stardom arrives safely in Sydney

Japanese horse Tosen Stardom has arrived safely in Sydney ahead of a second tilt at the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

The five-year-old is the lone overseas entrant for The Championships after three other Japanese horses stayed at home because of injury and poor lead-up form.

Trainer Yasutoshi Ikee was at the refurbished quarantine centre at Canterbury to greet the horse who arrived on Tuesday afternoon after a routine flight from Hong Kong.

It is Tosen Stardom’s second visit to Sydney where he finished second to Contributer in last year’s Ranvet Stakes before a creditable fifth in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes won by Criterion who will again be a rival.
