Tiara Star chases Millions start
Trainer Toby Edmonds is desperately looking for another race to qualify Tiara Star for the Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic after her win at the Sunshine Coast.
Tiara Star was equal 27th in order of entry for the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) on January 14 before she made a one-act affair of her race on Wednesday.
The win earned her a further $12,800 taking her eligible prize money for the Millions race to $26,000.
She is now about six places out of getting a Millions start but with weekend racing to come.
“I put blinkers on her and that sharpened her up but she is really looking for the 1200 metres of the Millions now,” Edmonds said.
“She is well bred out of a good race mare and I think she deserves her chance in the big race.”
“There are a few options and we just have to weigh them up.”
Tiara Star ($1.90) was the third leg of a treble for Edmonds and jockey Jeff Lloyd at the Sunshine Coast meeting.
