The Autumn Sun surges to Randwick Guineas
A withering late burst has secured The Autumn Sun a narrow victory in the $1m Group One Randwick Guineas (1600m) at Randwick.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old timed his run to perfection under Kerrin McEvoy, the favourite reeling in Fundamentalist as the post loomed to extend his winning streak to four. Nakeeta June was third.
“What an effort by this colt, he needed to be outstanding today,” McEvoy said.
