In-form apprentice Tahlia Hope has been sidelined with rib injuries suffered in a trackwork fall.

Apprentice Tahlia Hope is awaiting results of X-rays to determine the extent of rib injuries she suffered in a trackwork fall at Seymour.

After the fall on Monday, Hope stood down from riding at the Geelong trials later that morning and was replaced on rides at Ballarat on Tuesday and Sandown on Wednesday.

Hope’s trainer/father Shannon said his daughter had bruised ribs and had undergone precautionary X-rays.

He said she had hoped to be right to ride at Ballarat on Tuesday.

“She’s a bit sore but it’s better to be safe than sorry,” Hope said.

“She could have pushed through it, but we’re not riding in Group Ones. They’re on again next week and yes it’s disappointing that she’s not riding.

“We’ve decided to have a few days off and not take any more rides so we don’t let anyone down.”

Hope has been riding in good form and earlier this month landed her first metropolitan double at Sandown.
