Sunshine Coast Horse Betting Preview, 25th October 2020
Seven races will be run and won on Sunday at the Sunshine Coast after seven races there on Friday night. The rail stays in the +7m position, which did play favourable to those closer to the fence on Friday, but after plenty of rain and a downgrade of the track to a Soft 7, we think they’ll be coming from behind and down the middle of the track. Race 1 jumps at 1:15pm AEST.
Sunshine Coast Horse Betting Tips
Race 5 #4 Dolly SpartanDavid Vandyke and Steph Thornton combine with very consistent mare, Dolly Spartan in the fifth race over 1200m. She has only ever missed the place once, and goes very well at this track and distance. Thornton rode her to third at Ipswich last time out but had to work from the wide alley, so from barrier 2 today, she can have a much better run. She is yet to win her first race in soft going, but this will give her every chance.

Race 6 #8 Too Hot To HoldThe new training partnership of Steve O’Dea and Matthew Hoysted saddle up five-year-old mare Too Hot To Hold. She absolutely loves the Sunshine Coast, with two wins and nine minor placings from fifteen starts at the course, and we expect her to add to that tally in this. Anthony Allen will let the race unfold around him from barrier three and peel out in the straight. Her wet form is handy enough, only missing the pace twice from ten starts, so she should take some beating in this.

It’s a simple as this, Chapelco should’ve won last start. Gary Duncan’s seven-year-old gelding certainly wasn’t given the most economical ride last time out at Ipswich but still charged late to be beaten a lip as a well-backed favourite. Tegan Harrison takes over the riding here and from barrier 3 will hopefully be bang on midfield with cover off the fence to give the big boy every chance. He is a winner on wet tracks in the past and placed fourth in his only start at this course, but given the big straight, we think it’ll suit his big striding action. At around $6.00, he looks a great each way bet.
