Caloundra Cup Day will conclude the 2025 Queensland Racing Carnival at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday afternoon, featuring the Group 3 Winx Guineas, Listed Caloundra Cup and Glasshouse Handicap. The track was rated as a Heavy 8 at the time of acceptances, but with no rain forecast in the lead-up, it is expected to firm into the Soft range. The rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit, with the first race scheduled to jump at 12:23pm AEST.
Caloundra Cup tip: Half Yours
Tony & Calvin McEvoy will be seeking to claim the feature race with Half Yours, who heads up to the Sunshine State off the back of an unlucky run over 2000m at Randwick last start. The son of St Jean was made to settle three wide without cover before going down by half a length to Freight Train. Given the territory he covered in that run, the rise to 2400m in the 2025 Caloundra Cup will suit Half Yours perfectly at peak fitness.

Winx Guineas tip: Bollinger Miss
Bollinger Miss has continued to improve throughout this preparation, including an impressive third-place finish behind Mister Bianco over 1350m at Ipswich last start. The daughter of Zousain settled back in the field on the fence and picked her way through before running up behind the leaders in the final 100m. With the extra 250m and a much better run expected, Bollinger Miss can turn the tables on the favourite in the 2025 Winx Guineas.

Glasshouse Handicap tip: Far Too Easy
Far Too Easy found the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap way too tough, finishing 14th of 18 after settling well back in the field. Now that the son of All Too Hard drops back to Listed company, he will have to carry more weight but draws a better barrier for this 1400m contest. If Ashley Morgan can settle Far Too Easy in the first six and allow him to finish off strongly, the +650 with horse racing bookmakers is great value.

Best Bet at the Sunshine Coast: Caspernova
Caspernova will head to the Sunshine Coast on the back of a strong first-up performance when finishing second behind Simbu at Doomben on June 18. The Robert Heathcote-trained gelding ran on from the back of the field and was beaten by a horse that received a much easier run. He will get the run of the race from barrier one this time, and with even luck from the inside gate, Caspernova will prove very hard to beat.
