Scrabble scored an overdue win last time out and it could kick on with the job now. The Stuart Kendrick-trained sprinter has taken on harder fields than this and we’re expecting another tidy performance.

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

Aetherius has placed in three of its five starts to date and a win should be coming shortly. The Mark Webb-trained runner put the writing on the wall last start and this doesn’t look like an overly competitive field.

She’s An Eager Lass didn’t fire at its first two starts, but that form turned around with a win last start. The filly looks good enough to take the next step and bookmakers should have it well fancied in the market.

Race 4 – Open Handicap (1000m)

Tarzan drops back in grade after running eighth behind Pinch River last start. Its form prior included three consecutive wins and form similar to that takes it very close here.

Race 5 – C2 Handicap (1800m)

Chris Munce lines up Kingaroy, which is searching for three wins on the bounce. The four-year-old has drawn awkwardly in barrier nine, but there’s plenty to like about its recent form.

Race 6 – Maiden Plate (1600m)

Pentagram must deal with barrier 13, but its recent form has been encouraging. The Liam Birchley-trained runner finished third two back before running fourth last start and that should be good enough form for this.

Pride of Destiny was a handy winner two back before finishing fourth to close its campaign. Fresh up here and it should get every chance from barrier two with an apprentice claim.

Classy Ruby could provide punters with some each way value here. The seven-year-old has been producing solid runs this season and it could pay a nice place price.
