Sunlight first, daylight second in Golden Slipper
PLENTY of contenders have emerged, but smart filly Sunlight remains firm race favourite with online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au and also the punters’ pick for Saturday’s Golden Slipper.
Sunlight ($3.50) is streets ahead in popularity, holding more than double the money than second favourite Written By ($5.50). The two horses won their final lead-ups last Saturday and remain the two heavyweights for the Rosehill Group 1.
Performer, a one-time favourite for the race, is third in money wagered, just ahead of Estijaab and Santos, both $8.00, but Estijaab holds more money than Santos.
“Sunlight is a very honest filly and since she won the Magic Millions she’s attracted a lot more support for the Slipper,” Sportsbet’s Ella Zampatti.
“She’s gone from strength to strength and punters are happy to tag along for the ride.”
