BALLARAT is one of our favourite venues to punt at on Sunday’s and there’s nine races to enjoy this weekend.

The “Nursery of Champions” hosts some talented up-and-comers this Sunday and we have form, odds and free racing tips for the card.

Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

Invincible Fille is a well-bred type for Darren Weir and it’s good to see Dean Yendall in the saddle. She gets the inside draw and that’s big over this distance.

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1600m)

Pleasuring has been nearing a win for some time now and it looks well-placed here. The Weir-trained three-year-old has placed in all four starts this campaign and the inside draw should ensure it gets every chance.

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1600m)

Pretty To Sea has finished third in both career starts to date and it could improve here. The Aaron Purcell-trained runner looks to have plenty of ability and each way odds should be on offer.

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1400m)

Bella Luciana finished fifth on debut before improving for third last start. The Hawkes-trained filly showed good improvement at Mornington last time out and despite drawing wide here, she looms as a winning hope.

Race 5 – BM64 Handicap (1400m)

Zhang Fei improved significantly throughout its first campaign to win last time out at Seymour. It might need some time to mature this preparation, but the market will indicates its winning chances here.

Race 6 – C1 Handicap (1400m)

Belfast was a good winner on debut at Bairnsdale where he won by 1.3 lengths. The Teofilo colt has drawn awkwardly in barrier 14 for this, but Dwayne Dunn should be able to find some cover.

Race 7 – BM78 Handicap (1600m)

I Boogi knows how to win and it comes into this having won fresh up before finishing fourth last start at Caulfield. That’s strong form for a Sunday at Ballarat and we’re expecting bookmakers to have him as the favourite.

Race 8 – BM64 Handicap (2200m)

Duke of Oz looks ready to show its best form after two runs this campaign. The Jamie Edwards-trained seven-year-old isn’t getting any younger, but it gets the inside draw and that will help the each way chance.

Race 9 – BM64 Handicap (1000m)

The Mayor was a tidy winner last start before heading out for a spell. The Logan McGill-trained three-year-old is capable of taking this out and it should be paying each way odds.
