Summer Passage to race in Hong Kong

New Zealand Group One winner Summer Passage will do his future racing in Hong Kong.

The Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott-trained colt, winner of the Sistema Stakes at Ellerslie in March, finished second in the Group One ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes in the autumn and second again in the Group Three Caulfield Guineas Prelude this spring.

O’Sullivan’s Hong Kong-based trainer/brother Paul will take over Summer Passage for local owner Eugene Chuang.

“The owner has a permit to race there that he has to fill by December 22 so he’s going up to Paul,” O’Sullivan told NZ Racing Desk.

“He was originally bought to go to Hong Kong and, at that time, we didn’t envisage winning a Group One here so it was a privilege to do that. Who knows, he might be back at some stage.”
