So Dapper shows class with all the way win

So Dapper wins at the Sunshine Coast.
So Dapper has underlined his middle-distance with an all-the-way win at the Sunshine Coast.

Exciting galloper So Dapper showed why his connections were disappointed when he missed the winter carnival when he scored a runaway win at the Sunshine Coast.

So Dapper ($5) went straight to the lead and cruised home to beat A Man To Match ($3.30) by 3-1/4 lengths in the Esplanade Mooloolaba Plate (1800m).

Trainers John Symons and Sheila Laxon believed Sir Dapper would have been competitive against top three-year-olds in the winter but he suffered an injury.

“We had him in a maiden to give him a first-up win and he worked brilliantly on a Thursday morning,” Symonds said.

“On Friday morning he was lame and we discovered he had pulled a hamstring.

“So it was back to square one and we got him back and he has now won three of his four starts.

“We have a big opinion of him and we can start to look at the Magic Millions carnival.

“There is an 1800m race for three and four-year-olds during the Millions carnival and we think he might measure up to that.”

Winning jockey Larry Cassidy said he turned the race into a genuine test form the 800m.

“He is showing plenty of ability and it was a very good win,” he said.
