Silent Sedition ends spring with G3 win

A setback in the spelling paddock thwarted Andrew Noblet’s plans to target the Group One Myer Classic with Silent Sedition.

But the trainer was still thrilled for the mare to end her spring campaign with a stakes win at Sandown on Saturday.

Silent Sedition stained a muscle and Noblet scrapped plans to target last month’s Myer.

Instead, after two stakes placings over shorter distances, Silent Sedition stepped out in the Group Three Summoned Stakes (1500m) and scored by three quarters of a length.

“We’ll give her a break now,” Noblet said.

“We did think about Perth (Group One races) but we won’t go there.”

Noblet will save Silent Sedition for the autumn, confident the mare can win better races.

Silent Sedition gave jockey Craig Williams a stakes race treble after wins on Morton’s Fork and Redkirk Warrior.
