Twilight racing returns to Sha Tin on Saturday afternoon, with a bumper 11-part program set to get underway at 4pm local time. The rail moves out to the B course after racing in the true last weekend, and with some rainfall forecast leading into the weekend, there is a chance the surface will be downgraded into the Soft range at some stage. Check out our best bets and quaddie selections for the Sha Tin races on June 28, 2025.
Best Bet at Sha Tin: Gentlemen Legacy
Despite suffering a 1.3-length defeat in his latest outing at Sha Tin on June 14, Gentlemen Legacy appears to be building nicely fourth-up into his debut Hong Kong campaign. The son of Showtime sustained a tough run on that occasion, sitting three wide without cover towards the rear of the field before extending impressively in the final furlong. Stepping out to the 2000m for the first time should be ideal, and with Zac Purton set to get a cosy run throughout from stall four, Gentlemen Legacy should prove best this time around.
Best Bet
Race 3 – #6 Gentlemen Legacy (4)
4yo Gelding | T: Tony Cruz | J: Zac Purton (56kg)
Next Best at Sha Tin: Copartner Fleet
Copartner Fleet was heavily backed with horse racing bookmakers when debuting at Sha Tin on May 25, and although he was forced to settle for second place, the Nicconi gelding did enough to suggest he is worth following. He was forced to cross from a wide barrier (12) first-up, doing all the work on-speed before fading and rolling off the inside rail in the concluding stages. Zac Purton should have no issue dictating terms again — this time from barrier three — allowing Copartner Fleet to conserve energy and kick clear to claim a maiden win.
Next Best
Race 4 – #5 Copartner Fleet (3)
3yo Gelding | T: Francis Lui | J: Zac Purton (58.5kg)
Best Value at Sha Tin: Beauty Bolt
Irish import Beauty Bolt brings plenty of interest to the final event of the Sha Tin card, posting a dominant debut win at Dundalk on January 27 before his arrival. He seems to have acclimatised well to his new surroundings, cruising through the wire in back-to-back barrier trials on the Sha Tin all-weather circuit. The Tony Cruz-trained gelding should get a soft run in transit from barrier five under Brenton Avdulla, and provided he can replicate his synthetic-track form on the turf course, Beauty Bolt must be considered a major player in this.
Best Value
Race 11 – #6 Beauty Bolt (5)
3yo Gelding | T: Tony Cruz | J: Brenton Avdulla (56kg)
