Well-bred mare Notonyourlife gets a chance to make the most of her second coming on the racetrack at Doomben.

Notonyourlife won the Listed Ubet Classic in November which was valuable black type for the mare who was thought at the time ot be in-foal to Spirit of Boom.

She raced through the summer and was retired at the end of January but when she arrived at her owners’ Eureka Stud it was discovered she was not in foal.

“The initial test was positive but when she got to the stud further tests showed she no longer was carrying a foal,” trainer Tony Gollan said.

“It had nothing to do with her racing. It was just one of those things.”

Notonyourlife was put back into work and at her first run back she stormed home for fourth in the Listed Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast on May 5.

She will start in the Listed Bright Shadow Stakes on Saturday and race into the winter.

“Obviously we would like to get more black-type with her as she is so well bred,” Gollan said.

“Exactly how high we aim with her will depend on her form.”

“But she will definitely go straight to stud at the end of the winter.”

Notonyourlife is by Sebring out of Danehill mare Defiant, a daughter of Group One winner Ruffles.
