Race 1 – Maiden Handicap (1000m)
Saycanyousee was decent upon resumption on January 8 and in a weak maiden it should be winning. From the inside gate it should be able to lead and deliver a win at the tenth time of asking.
Race 1 tip: Saycanyousee to win ($1.85 at Sportsbet)
Race 2 – Benchmark 65 (1000m)
On The Fiddle has won first-up in the past and will be the runner to follow going into this one. The horse has won two of its four career runs and will be hard to hold out here.
Race 2 tip: On The Fiddle to win ($2.50 at Neds)
Race 3 – Maiden (1400m)
Sonnets will benefit greatly from the claim here and we think it will give backers a big run at odds. The horse only missed out by a length at a double figure price and the mare will deliver a strong run.
Race 3 tip: Sonnets to win ($8.50 at Ladbrokes)
Race 4 – Class 4 (1400m)
El Venetian is racing at the Sapphire Coast after a disappointing run at Randwick. The horse returns to a much easier race here and should be hard to beat.
Race 4 tip: El Venetian to win ($3.10 at William Hill)
Race 5 – Class 2 Plate (1200m)
Manzana is seeking a hat-trick and is well placed to get it. The horse has not missed a placing across four runs this preparation and there is no reason to doubt it cannot repeat the dose here.
Race 5 tip: Manzana to win ($2.90 at Neds)
Race 6 – Open Handicap (1200m)
Marquee is first-up on Sunday, where it has placed twice at in the past. The horse has a great record at the Sapphire Coast, winning once and placing a further two times over five runs. The price is very generous and we think it can take this one out.
Race 6 tip: Marquee to win ($14 at William Hill)
Race 7 – Showcase Cup (1600m)
Its form can be indifferent but Makeadane at its best takes this race out. From gate two the horse will be able to make its own luck and we think the big ocassion will bring out the galloper’s best.
Race 7 tip: Makeadane to win ($6.50 at Crownbet)
Race 8 – Sapphire Coast Cup (2200m)
City Of Kirkwall is in stellar form and will be extremely hard to beat here. The horse is seeking a hat-trick and has hit its peak form after racing almost exclusively at Kranji. Back City Of Kirkwall in.
Race 8 tip: City Of Kirkwall to win ($2.50 at Ladbrokes)
