Sandown track under inspection

Stewards and senior jockeys are inspecting the Sandown track after a horse almost fell in the opening race.

The $1.85 favourite Gridelin appeared to slip and was lucky not to fall on point of the home turn in The Grand Hotel Frankston Handicap on Wednesday.

Gridelin, ridden by Craig Williams, recovered to finish second to Perfectly Safe ($5.50), giving Dwayne Dunn an early win.
