SANDOWN mid-week racing is back for this Wednesday and we’re looking forward to what the day will bring.

There’s a solid eight race card to steer us through hump day, so let’s take a look at which runners we think will make an impact on Wednesday.

Race 1 – Maiden (1200m)

Mylex was decent upon resumption on January 26, going down by less than a length and we think it can breakthrough in this maiden event. The horse has previously placed second-up in the past and we believe it can go well in this weak race.

Race 1 tip: Mylex to win at Crownbet

Race 2 – Maiden (1400m)

Danbana as only one length off a debut win on January 24 and from the inside draw we are favouring it to deliver a win at the second time of asking. The horse should get an unimpeded passage to the head of affairs without a ton of speed around, and from there it should lead and win.

Race 2 tip: Danbana to win at Neds

Race 3 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Twilight Song gets a great opportunity to follow up its debut win at Sandown in the third event. The Hayes, Hayes and Daberning runner won well at Caulfield on January 17 despite running very greenly and we believe it can go on with the job here.

Race 3 tip: Twilight Song to win at Ladbrokes

Race 4 – Benchmark 64 (1600m)

Just Before Dark is hunting a hat-trick and we’re backing it in. The horse won at this grading at Terang on January 23, and the form its currently in means we cannot overlook it here.

Race 4 tip: Just Before Dark to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)

Craig Widdison’s Lord Laurie comes into this race after back-to-back wins in Albury. The horse has placed third-up in the past and will benefit greatly from retaining Chelsea Macfarlane, who has steered the runner to both of those victories. Should Lord Laurie slide across nicely from a wide barrier it will be hard to beat.

Race 5 tip: Lord Laurie to win at Neds

Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (2100m)

In Bubba’s Call’s last four races it has recorded three wins and a second placing. One of those wins came at this grading, so we are backing the red-hot form to continue for the five-year-old.

Race 6 tip: Bubba’s Call to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Benchmark 70 (1300m)

Call Me Handsome is in brilliant form and looks well placed to deliver another strong run. The former Sha Tin galloper has never missed the placings and has improved with every run in its career. Back it in for another solid performance.

Race 7 tip: Call Me Handsome to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 70 (1400m)

Duecourse is hunting a third-straight win and we believe it’s going to deliver a win here. The Duporth mare comes to Melbourne for the first time in its career, but from a great gate and with Craig Williams on board we’re backing a metropolitan win in.

Race 8 tip: Duecourse to win at Crownbet
