Race 1 – Maiden (1600m)

We’re expecting a win from the Dangerwood Cats in the AFL and its namesake in the gallops. The horse resumes here after a disappointing opening preparation but by all reports the gelding ready to fire after 13 months away from the track.

Race 1 tip: Dangerwood to win ($9.50 at Sportsbet)

Race 2 – Maiden (1600m)

Gelding Maclairey has progressed nicely this campaign, culminating in a last-start second at Pakenham, just eight parts of a length away from a win. It was a vast improvement on the debut run, so if it again progresses it will be right in the mix.

Race 2 tip: Maclairey to win ($7.50 at William Hill)

Race 3 – Benchmark 64 (1400m)

Kardashing drops back in class here and looks the runner to beat. The promising three-year-old jumps from barrier one and will be good enough to be in the leading division early. Forget the last-start, this is a much easier affair.

Race 3 tip: Kardashing to win ($7 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Benchmark 70 (1500m)

It has been a promising start to the career for Herecomesmybaby. The horse has two wins and a placing from three starts, including a strong Class 1 victory on March 22. This appears to be within the horse’s grasp if the progression continues.

Race 4 tip: Herecomesmybaby to win ($2.90 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Benchmark 70 (1400m)

Patricia Anne is the horse to beat here. After a five month break the mare should be refreshed and ready to fire. The horse has a record of a win and a second placing over two runs at the distance, and from a great gate it will be right in the frame to win a third race from 12 attempts.

Race 5 tip: Patricia Anne to win ($6.50 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Benchmark 70 (1300m)

Niamh Chinn Oir has been great this preparation, winning once and placing second in back-to-back events. The horse drops back slightly in class after a BM78 second against the girls, and while it is back against the blokes here we believe the four-year-old can deliver.

Race 6 tip: Niamh Chinn Oir to win ($9 at Neds)

Race 7 – Benchmark 70 (1000m)

A drop back in class will be beneficial for Steel Of Madrid. The horse had recorded a hat-trick before being found out at BM80 level. We think this is Steel Of Madrid’s rating right now is around this mark.

Race 7 tip: Steel Of Madrid to win ($10 at Ladbrokes)

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1300m)

The second-up Lakhoni should be in the mix here. The horse won brilliantly as a short-priced favourite at this level on March 13 and while its a big jump in weight, it can go back-to-back for the first time in its career.

Race 8 tip: Lakhoni to win ($3.90 at Crownbet)
