Sale racing tips & best bets – Thursday, 24 September 2020
The week of racing continues at Sale on Thursday in the lead up to a Group 1 weekend. The track is a Good 4 at the time of writing and the rail is out 4m the entire circuit; when we were last here, it was in the true position and the track played quite fairly. Nine races are set down for judgement on what looks a tough little midweek card with not many short-priced favourites going around.
Thursday racing tips for Sale
Leon and Troy Corstens have this 3YO filly resuming on Thursday after two minor placings in her debut campaign, including a close third on her city debut behind Diala and Rose Of Sebring. In that race she beat home Yes Baby Yes, who holds nominations for the Thousand Guineas and The Oaks. Wegobam resumes in what doesn’t look like a deep maiden, so she should break through here at start three. From barrier eight, she should be able to sit off them and come over the top late.

This 4YO mare gets back to turf for the first time since June after an impressive campaign on the synthetic tracks. She makes her own luck up on speed and should prove hard to catch from barrier three. Good going will help considerably, because she doesn’t have a wet-track record to write home about. The drop in class looks ideal after she tired late at her last start on the Ballarat synthetic.

Ajay’s Ace was well beaten in her last two starts but found only one better last time out when runner-up by six lengths at Moe, where she looked to have the others covered after racing quite keenly early on. Her edge in fitness could prove beneficial over some of the key market rivals. We are happy to have a play at these odds for a galloper who tends to race up on speed and looks a handy midweek horse to follow.
