Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1419m)
Perfect Award debuts here and looks a likely type. After a smart trial Noel Callow takes ride and the two-year-old is a strong chance to make a winning first-start.
Race 1 tip: Perfect Award to win ($5 at Sportsbet)
Race 2 – Maiden (1736m)
Despite drawing an outside barrier, Indrabeel should be around the mark. The horse has placed second in back-to-back events, including a run where it finished just a nose away. This looms as a winnable event.
Race 2 tip: Indrabeel to win ($2.60 at Neds)
Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1208m)
Smoke Signal resumes here after a four month break and we’re prepared to back the gelding here. The Mick Price runner placed in back-to-back events prior to being turned out and we think he can deliver his first-ever win.
Race 3 tip: Smoke Signal to win ($5 at Sportsbet)
Race 4 – Class 1 Handicap (2232m)
We’re forgiving Queen Leonora’s last-start fifth at Flemington. The horse failed to win in a 3YO Handicap, but the filly is fresh off a promising maiden win one start prior at Bendigo. Deserves another shot.
Race 4 tip: Queen Leonora to win ($2.05 at Sportsbet)
Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (1736m)
Topweight Crisis Point looms as a strong hope. The horse returns to a track and distance where it has won at in the past and we’re backing the gelding to deliver at a level it has registered a win at previously.
Race 5 tip: Crisis Point to win ($4.40 at William Hill)
Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (1208m)
Wired has placed previously third-up and brings in quality form. After placing in back-to-back events to kick off her campaign, the filly should be fit and firing ahead of this one.
Race 6 tip: Wired to win ($6 at Neds)
Race 7 – Benchmark 64 (1108m)
Wrapsody resumed brilliant with a strong win at BM58 level and we’re backing it continue the good form. The horse hasn’t won at two second-up attempts but we’re expecting her to be highly competitive.
Race 7 tip: Wrapsody to win ($3.30 at William Hill)
Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1419m)
Potemkin is second-up after a smart return on April 29 and we’re expecting a further improved performance. The horse finished twice across two second-up races in the past and this appears very winnable.
Race 8 tip: Split Lip to win ($4.60 at Sportsbet)
