Ryan Wiggins booked for Too Good To Refuse

Jockey Ryan Wiggins is set to begin a feature race association with three-year-old Too Good To Refuse in the Toowoomba Guineas.

Too Good To Refuse will head to Toowoomba on Saturday to take the first step towards the Group One Stradbroke Handicap or the Group Two Queensland Guineas on June 11.

Brisbane trainer Desleigh Forster considered Too Good To Refuse talented enough to take to Sydney for the Hobartville Stakes in February but a recurrence of an injury wrecked the trip.

“He has had one run back in Brisbane and it was great,” Forster said.

“Too Good To Refuse was tailed off last from a wide barrier but made up about 15 lengths to finish right behind the placegetters.”

“I expect he will be very hard to beat on Saturday.”

The Listed Toowoomba Guineas (1625m) attracted 22 entries on Monday with 25 horses nominated for the Weetwood Handicap (1200m) and 17 for the Toowoomba Cup (2000m).

Forster as been sorting out jockeys for her trio of three-year-old winter carnival aspirants.

“Ryan Wiggins will be on Too Good To Refuse and I think he will suit him,” she said.

Michael Cahill has been riding Cylinder Beach in trackwork and will be on him for his Queensland Derby campaign.

“Cylinder Beach will resume in the Gunsynd Classic in a fortnight. He has been coming along very nicely,” Forster said.

At his most recent start in November, Cylinder Beach won a Doomben maiden by nine lengths and Forster has had him earmarked for the Derby since then.

The trainer is yet to confirm a jockey for Group One placegetter I’m Belucci who is also Derby bound.

“Luke Dittman is in line for the ride as I like the way he rides. But nothing final has been decided,” she said.
