Tavlin will appreciate running on its home track and there were signs of encouragement last time out. The Logan/Gibbs-trained runner finished second behind subsequent winner Project and that form is tops for this.

Divine Elite is on debut for the in-form Richardson/Parker stables and we’re expecting plenty of tote support on debut. The three-year-old by Pour Moi is nicely bred so look for a market push.

Bits and Pieces is nearing a win after three placings from three starts. The Kelso-trained filly went close at Tauranga last start and its start prior came behind subsequent Australian winner So Far Sokool.

Romancer was a stylish winner fresh up this campaign before running into hot fields since. The local chance looks the best runner in this field and it gets some weight relief from apprentice Jordan Nason.

Al Vandaam scored convincingly enough at Hastings to suggest that it could win again. The four-year-old has finished in the money in five of its nine career starts and that consistent form should carry through here.
