The 2025 Royal Ascot carnival comes to a close on Saturday afternoon, with the fifth and final day boasting a stacked seven-part program. The Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (1200m) headlines the action, with a quality field of 16 set to line up in the time-honoured sprinting feature. The track should remain in the Good range, while Day 5 of the Royal Meeting at Ascot gets underway at 2:30pm local time.
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Tip: Satono Reve
Satono Reve — the lone representative for Japan in this year’s Royal Ascot carnival — brings strong credentials into the 2025 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. The son of Lord Kanaloa claimed the Group 1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen (1200m) at Chukyo on March 30 before heading to Hong Kong to take on the world’s best sprinter, Ka Ying Rising. He was sensational when finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m), and with the likes of Helios Express already franking the form, Satono Reve must be considered a major player — particularly if the ground stays firm.

Best Bet at Royal Ascot: Rebel’s Romance
Rebel’s Romance added to his impressive resume with a grinding victory in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup Stakes (2787m) on May 16. The seven-year-old gelding rarely puts in a poor performance, with 26 starts for 18 wins and one minor placing. The 2400m has proved to be his best trip, and although William Buick will need to find some cover from the awkward draw in gate 11, Rebel’s Romance appears to have a significant class edge in this year’s Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes (2406m).
Best Bet
Race 2 – #9 Rebel’s Romance (11)
7yo Gelding | T: Charlie Appleby | J: William Buick (58.5kg)
Next Best at Royal Ascot: Treanmor
Debut wins don’t come more impressive than what Treanmor produced at Newmarket on May 19. The Frankel colt sprinted clear to score by four lengths, making every post a winner under the urgings of William Buick. This small field of nine gives Buick the chance to adopt similar front-running tactics once again, and with the main threat coming from Moments Of Joy drawn in gate one, Treanmor should get every chance to edge away in the concluding stages.
Next Best
Race 1 – #5 Treanmor (5)
2yo Colt | T: Charlie Appleby | J: William Buick (59.5kg)
Best Value at Royal Ascot: Saracen
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Saracen is worth forgiving on his first-up performance and represents good each-way value with the best bookmakers in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes (1408m). He was dragged back towards the rear of the field and raced fiercely at Newbury on April 12, hitting the line well despite the poorly mannered performance. The two-month break between runs should suit, and provided Dylan Browne McMonagle can get Saracen to settle in the run, watch for this guy to be finishing best.
Best Value
Race 4 – #11 Saracen (13)
3yo Colt | T: Joseph O’Brien | J: Dylan Browne McMonagle (58.5kg)
