IT is Group 3 Expressway Stakes (1200m) day at Rosehill and a huge nine race card awaits punters.
We’ve gone through the entire day of racing at the Sydney track and delivered tips for each and every race heading into Saturday.
Looking for a new bookmaker ahead of Rosehill?
Race 1 – Benchmark 78 (1100m)
Charlayne debuted well on January 19 and will look to maintain the unbeaten run on Saturday. The Waller runner won by one and a half lengths on that day and with natural progression from the maiden win will see it take this race out.
Race 1 tip: Charlayne to win ($4.60 at Sportsbet)
Race 2 – Canonbury Stakes (1100m)
Performer should be taking this race out. The horse won well in a 2YO colts and geldings race on September 30 and it has trialled beautifully leading into this event. Back it in here.
Race 2 tip: Performer to win ($1.60 at Neds)
Race 3 – Widden Stakes (1100m)
Into The Abyss won well on Boxing Day and resumes after a small let up. The horse trialed nicely heading into this race and looms as a winning threat despite drawing barrier 13.
Race 3 tip: Into The Abyss to win ($8 at Ladbrokes)
Race 4 – Benchmark 90 (1500m)
Flow is a favourite of ours and we believe it will go back-to-back here. The Godolphin runner smashed the field last time out at Randwick on January 20 and a similar performance will see it claim this race with ease.
Race 4 tip: Flow to win ($2.30 at William Hill)
Race 5 – Class 3 Plate (1100m)
Kopi Luwak is the horse to beat here. It could not have been more impressive at Moruya on resumption before only just missing out to stablemate Acquittal at Randwick on January 20. We can’t go past the son of Snitzel here.
Race 5 tip: Kopi Luwak to win ($1.95 at Neds)
Race 6 – Benchmark 82 (1500m)
Tahsin is hunting a hat-trick here and is poised to complete it. The five-year-old won well at Warwick Farm over the mile and the slight drop down in journey will not bother it.
Race 6 tip: Tahsin to win ($5.50 at William Hill)
Race 7 – Expressway Stakes (1200m)
Trapeze Artist trailed sensationally leading into this race and we think it’s the galloper to beat. The son of Snitzel has two wins over this distance and has won first-up before in the past. Back the Gerald Ryan runner in.
Race 7 tip: Trapeze Artist to win ($4.20 at Crownbet)
Race 8 – Benchmark 84 (1400m)
Chris Waller runner El Novio was decent first-up behind Tahsin upon resumption at the Farm and we think it is capable of running a cheeky race here. The horse has placed second-up in the past and has a win and a placing at this distance.
Race 8 tip: El Novio to place ($5 at Ladbrokes)
Race 9 – Benchmark 83 (1300m)
Don’t Give A Damn should round out the Rosehill card with a win for us. The talented runner has three wins and a placing from four runs and from a great gate with not much in the way of weight the horse will be incredibly hard to hold out once again.
Race 9 tip: Don’t Give A Damn to win ($3.60 at Neds)
