Ride Guide against the rules: stewards
Jockeys have lost out in their bid to launch an online service to punters discussing their upcoming rides.
Stewards from Victoria and NSW met with riders on Wednesday and said a day later any licensed jockey who continued to participate would be in breach of the rules.
They said there were integrity concerns given the digital service was only available via the betting site of corporate bookmaker Ladbrokes and also that racehorse owners’ associations in Victoria and NSW opposed it.
