Jockey Regan Bayliss is to leave Hong Kong and return to riding in Melbourne.

Regan Bayliss will not apply for a contract extension in Hong Kong and will return to the jockey ranks in Melbourne.

The young rider’s contract ends on December 31 and he expects to be riding in Melbourne next month.

“I’ve decided to return to Melbourne when my contract comes to an end on the 31st December. I’d like to thank @HKJC_Racing for the opportunities over the course of my stint, it’s been great. I’ll have a short break & return to race riding early Jan” Baylis said on Twitter.
