Raw Impulse odds-on for Valley race
Raw Impulse is an odds-on favourite to bounce back from his first Australian defeat when he returns to Melbourne racing at Moonee Valley.
The Darren Weir-trained import made an immediate impression in Australia with a dominant win at Moonee Valley in March followed by back-to-back wins at Caulfield.
He then ran fourth in the Listed McKell Cup (2400m) in Sydney.
The four-year-old is at $1.80 for Saturday’s Vital Healthcare Property Trust Handicap (2040m), the shortest-priced favourite in early markets for the nine-race program.
The race also features the Matthew Williams-trained Turnitaround who will be chasing his fifth-straight win.
Weir’s season tally of winners stands at 308 as he chases the Commonwealth record of 334.
