RACING Victoria is set to announce the remaining three wildcard runners for the $5 million All-Star Mile on Monday.

Racing Victoria’s Executive General Manager Greg Carpenter, will reveal the three remaining wildcard runners for the race at 12pm on Monday, 4 March.

The top-10 horses have already been settled, while Group 1 Doncaster Mile winner Happy Clapper was named as the first wildcard for the inaugural event.

The wildcards will complete the field for the world’s richest mile race, which makes its debut at Flemington on Saturday, 16 March.

Australian Guineas Day could have a significant bearing on the decision, with the winner of the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) strongly favoured to receive an All-Star Mile wildcard, whilst the winner of the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) is also likely to come under consideration.

Ringerdingding has been backed off the map ahead of the Australian Guineas, firming from $9.50 to $7.50 with online bookmaker Sportsbet.

The All-Star Mile wildcard panel will convene on Monday morning, with the decision set to be officially announced by Carpenter at RV’s offices at 12 noon.
