Racing.com to cover Brisbane Group Ones

The five Group One race days of the Brisbane Race Club’s winter carnival will be shown live on free-to-air Racing.com for the first time.

Racing Queensland has signed a deal which will allow the meetings to be shown on Racing.com from next Saturday which will feature the Group One Doomben 10,000.

Racing.com will also show the Doomben Cup (May 20), Kingsford Smith Cup (May 27), Queensland Oaks (June 3) and Stradbroke Handicap (June 10) meetings.

Most of the meetings were previously shown on Channel 7 and pay-for-view Sky Channel.

Racing.com continues to expand and will show South Australian racing from the start of the new season.

Racing Queensland chief executive Eliot Forbes said the move should help promote wagering to a new audience and further enhance the reputation of the Queensland carnival.

BRC chairman Neville Bell said it was a great opportunity for the club to promote its tracks and meetings Australia wide.

He said the Racing.com coverage would complement the existing Channel 7 coverage.

“In Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses we have fantastic settings in premier locations. To know that people all over the country can watch our events through full media coverage is fantastic,” Bell said.
