Quaddie tips for Thursday, March 9 races at Pakenham

quaddie tips
PAKENHAM is the Thursday night venue for our quaddie this week.

We’re loving the look of some returning gallopers here, and some horses that have delivered for our quaddies in the past feature again for what should be a successful quaddie for our HorseBetting.com.au readers.

Race five on the card at Pakenham is the Rotary Found Centenary bench mark 64, which kicks off the quaddie at 8pm.

Race 5 – Rotary Found Centenary BM64 (1200m)

The first leg of our Thursday quaddie sees a familiar runner tackling some true up-and-comers on the Australian horse racing scene.
Ragazzo Del Corsa returns to Pakenham on Thursday where it has had great success in the past. In two starts the four-year-old has won one race, which was the horse’s last start at the track over the same distance. There is no reason to think it cannot bounce back from a last start fourth to win back at Pakenham.

Weir runner Junior Burger is an interesting type. After debuting in sparkling fashion to win as a double figure runner, the three-year-old has failed to place in its subsequent five runs. The gelding is second up after a lengthy spell and should be much fitter. We like its chances.

Muccino is looking to continue a tremendous run of form which has seen the four-year-old gelding not miss a first four in a race since December of 2015. The only query is a first up record where it has only placed one from four attempts but it is an in-form galloper that is more than capable of taking this one out.

Race 6 – Pakenham Produce BM64 (1400m)

A few of our favourite runners greet punters for the second leg of our quaddie and it would be remiss of us not to throw them into the quaddie mix.

New Graduate has featured in our quaddies in the past. The mare failed last time out at Bendigo but prior to that had not missed a placing in nine previous starts. The Weir runner has a decent second up record and will be battling out the finish.

Bonify makes its Melbourne debut after an interesting career in Tasmania. On debut at Yea on the Australian mainland where it won handsomely as a short-priced favourite. They do not bring runners to the mainland for no reason so we are keeping an eye on the Kramer runner.

Top weight Star Impluse had an uncustomary poor run last time out at Pakenham but we are willing to forgive that given it had not missed a placing in its last three races. The consistent runner has an incredible 51 percent place record in its 67 races and will be thundering home if it gets a good run in transit.

Race 7 – Hygain BM70 (1400m)

The third leg of the quaddie looks to be a tricky one for punters but we have narrowed it down to a trio of horses.
I Bought A Horse caught the eye of the Horse Betting team two starts ago when it won in a photo finish at Ballarat. The four-year-old failed to truly fire last time out but still managed to finish inside the first four. Look for a bounce back run on Thursday.

Yacht Club makes its city debut after two classy wins in the country. Its last start was an eye-catching win on December 30 in Corowa and after a two month break the mare resumes on Thursday. The horse carries bottom weight and should be in the finish.

The Card Players has featured in quaddies in the past and has placed in two of its last three starts. In an interesting tactic trainer Mark Lewis has elected to let up the horse for three weeks in each of its last two runs, which will be a third race on Thursday where this has been employed. We are backing the four-year-old to have a strong showing at Pakenham.

Race 8 – Sportsbet Racing Form BM64 (1600m)

A field of 13 confronts punters on the last race of the day and we are favouring four runners in this one to bring us home.

Weir runner Real Messi had a disastrous run last start but we are willing to forgive the classy operator. It is the horse’s first attempt at the track, but it has won once and placed another time across six starts at the distance.

Luskin Belle has great form leading into Thursday night. The five-year-old mare has placed in two of its last three starts and has won previously at the distance. The runner should have a fitness advantage over a few of its rivals and will be raring to go with only 55kg on its back.

Lightly raced three-year-old Rosti has a first and a third to its name from its two career starts. We are backing the Sniztel product to give punters a great run after impressing in both of its races to date.

Le Grand Cru has a great record across its last five starts. The Andrew Noblet runner has missed the first four just once in five attempts. The mare steps up to a more preferred distance after finishing fourth over the 1400m at the beginning of February. The four-year-old will be right in the finish.
