Quaddie tips for Thursday, March 30 races at Pakenham

quaddie tips
AFTER heading to the country surrounds of Seymour, the Thursday quaddie returns to its spiritual home of Pakenham.

It’s the last Thursday race meet at Pakenham for March, and we’re confident we’ve cracked the quaddie code to get our readers a healthy dividend.

Race five on the card at Pakenham is the Thank You Nar Nar Goon FC maiden, which kicks off the quaddie at 8pm.

Race 5 – Thank You Nar Nar Goon FC (1400m)

It is always tough ask for punters given the quaddie kicks off with a maiden, but there is a trio of standout runners in this field we believe will battle out the finish.

Plucky Rita is having its third start in a row at Pakenham on Thursday so the track will be more than familiar to the mare. The five-year-old is unlucky to still be a maiden after going down in a photo finish late last year at Pakenham. Has the ability to break through.

Bridgy Lass is a filly that can step up and make an impact. The three-year-old placed in a field of nine at Geelong two weeks ago as a $41 chance. Has ridden both on the pace and at the back of the field in previous runs, getting a good run in transit will be pivotal but we think Thursday can be the day.

Lady Koocachoo is only racing in its fourth ever start, but the filly has shown ability in all of those runs. Maidens always need a lot of luck in the run but if it is in the first half of the field on the turn we will back it in to finish strong to the line.

Race 6 – Schweppes BM64 (1400m)

There is two clear stand outs for us in the second leg of our quaddie, and one outsider that can cause a boil over.

Ragazzo Del Corsa is a runner our readers will know well. The four-year-old went out as a short-priced favourite last start but failed to win – however, the rider was hit with a careless riding charge so we can forgive the run. Looks to be the class horse of the field.

Ticketing is racing third up on Thursday, where it has previously placed across to starts. At Bendigo last time out it placed third of nine runners in class one company but was less than half a length from the winner. Any replication of that form will see it winning this one.

As an outsider, Itchy Nee can cause an upset. The three-year-old resumes after a 45-day let up, and has shown high class ability after breaking the maiden tag at Benalla. If the track remains a soft surface it will benefit the gelding greatly on Thursday.

Race 7 – Stroud Homes BM64 (1200m)

A big field of 13 confronts punters for the third leg of the quaddie, but there are three runners that are head and shoulders above the contenders here.

Nina’s Ballerina is the clear stand out of the field. The Mick Price runner smashed the field at Bendigo on the 14th of March as a $4.25 elect. Anything close to that run will see the three-year-old filly blow this field away.

Ciaron Maher-trained Mandee is second up on Thursday, where it is previously undefeated. Upon resumption last week the filly finished fifth of ten runners at Moonee Valley, but will benefit from that run given it had four months away from the track.

Call It A Day carries top weight on Thursday despite it being its third ever career run. The four-year-old won in sensational fashion at Pakenham on March 9 and a similar run will see it right in the mix towards the finish.

Race 8 – Sportsbet Racing Form BM64 (1600m)

Another field of 13 rounds out the quaddie this Thursday, but like the previous race there are several stand out runners that look a class above here.

No Commitment featured in our Seymour quaddie last week, and while it did not get the job done for us it battled on well to claim third. The three-year-old returns to Pakenham where it is undefeated.

Miss Clooney is having its third straight run at Pakenham on Thursday. The mare has not missed the quinella placings since it began racing at Pakenham and has never missed a placing over the distance. Looms as a big chance.

Kym Hann-trained Sirfontein was sensational last time out as a short-priced favourite at Ararat at the end of February. The gelding has been let up for just over a month and will be raring to go in its second attempt at the 1600m journey.
