Quaddie tips for Thursday, March 16 races at Pakenham

quaddie tips
PAKENHAM is the venue for this week’s Thursday quaddie and as per usual there is a sensational card of racing on for punters.

There’s some fantastic prospects running around in the quaddie this week, including several types that have the ability to go on and make their way to weekend race days.

We have been consistently picking winners throughout our quaddies, but upset winners have precluded us from getting the total return, but this week we are confident we are going to nail all four legs to get a tasty Thursday dividend.

Race five on the card at Pakenham is the Main Civil Constructions bench mark 64, which kicks off the quaddie at 8pm.

Race 5 – Main Civil Constructions BM64 (1600m)

First leg of the quaddie sees an even field of ten confronting the 1600m distance.

One of our selections from last week Star Impulse resumed last Thursday in stylish fashion, but failed to get the win. The mare ran wide during the middle stages of the race but still managed to finish within a length of the winner. The seven-year-old has previously won second up before and will be much better for the run.

Bolshoi Belle is an interesting runner that can make an impact on Thursday. The six-year-old carries the bottom weight in the race and has won three times and placed twice across the distance. Does not win out of turn but looks well placed to make an impact.

Lightly raced filly High Bounty jumps straight into benchmark company after a crushing six-length win late last year. The three-year-old looks like it could be a progressive type and has to be considered a winning chance.

Race 6 – Advanced Cables BM70 (1400m)

One of the tougher fields of the day is the second leg of the Thursday quaddie but we have narrowed it down to three selections.

Curvano is looking to maintain a sensational run of form which has seen the four-year-old finish in the first four seven times in its last eight races. The gelding has never missed a placing in four runs at Pakenham and looks well placed to continue that run.

Downhearted comes into Thursday after a 42 day let up. The four-year-old has won once and placed another time across four races and has the ability to win at a track and distance where it has gone well before.

Three-year-old gelding He’s The Boss is looking to maintain a great start to its career. The Mick Price runner has won twice from three starts, including a class one victory back in September of last year. Since then it has trailed well and will look to maintain its unbeaten first up form.

Race 7 – Doogood Powder Coat Handicap Class 1 (1200m)

Punters face a field of 12 for the third leg of the quaddie, and three clear standouts will look to keep us rolling into the last race.

John O’Shea trained Wazamba looks to be the main elect in the field. The three-year-old filly took longer than expected to break the maiden tag but the Exceed And Excel product has only missed the placings twice in its career.

Four-year-old Sintara is looking to back up a great run at Edenhope where the gelding finished half a length off the winner. The Shane Stockdale-trained runner drops back to the 1200m distance where it has won previously and should be in the finish.

Great Southern comes into the race after a 29 day let up. The three-year-old colt broke its maiden tag in sensational fashion in August last year and placed in its class one debut at the end of January. Weir teams up with Brad Rawiller and it is always advisable to back a DK runner with the pedigree of Great Southern.

Race 8 – Sportsbet Racing Form BM64 (1400m)

A terrific 12 runner field greets punters in the last leg of the quaddie but we have pored over the form and found a trio of gallopers that should fight out the finish.

Thumbtacks is a runner that needs some luck. The ten-year-old has had a horror run across its last two starts at Pakenham. The gelding has won once across two starts at the track and distance. We are expecting a bounce back effort on Thursday.

No Commitment has been brilliant since breaking the maiden tag in January. The three-year-old stepped straight into class one company in successful fashion before finishing second at Sandown at the beginning of February. The gelding gets a 36 day let up and should be ready to go at a distance where it is unbeaten.

Miss Clooney is looking to maintain an unbeaten run at Pakenham on Thursday night. The mare won stylishly at the beginning of February by a length and a half. The four-year-old resumes after a 35 day let up and has a win and a second placing from three first up runs.
