Punt Drunk : Massive day of racing to fix yesterday’s blows!

Sick beats on a Friday is not ideal!

It’s back punters! Group 1 racing is back in Australia for another year with the C.F Orr Stakes taking centre stage at Caulfield today. Hopefully the betting accounts are loaded up for the day, the beers are cold or the leave pass has been signed by the Mrs. Either way punters, the team at Horsebetting.com.au has all your needs covered for the big day of racing and hopefully we can steer you into a winner! But first….

Have you come out of a coma (Part 1)

Adam Crettendenn summed it up perfectly just after the winning post: “Will Astro Castro ever win again?” If you backed the veteran at $8 or when he was backed into a $4 chance you would deadset want to give the punt away. But let’s be honest, we’re degenerates and will not be doing something that silly! The Aaron Purcell trained eight-year-old has not won in almost three years but by god did he go close to breaking that streak yesterday at The ‘Bool. The official result was 0.2 lengths that he was beaten by, and we can only imagine that he traded at $1.01 with 100m to go before being pipped right on the line to blow a three length lead! It’s been a tough old time follow Astro Castro, but at least he gives you a ride of a lifetime.

Have you come out of a coma (Part 2)

You are having a punt at the Sunshine Coast, it’s 9:45pm, you have followed Michael Rodd and Rob Heathcote and our man Nick Lloyd on Alpendurada. They turn into the home straight and boy is he looking good. He gets to the 300m and all he needs is a gap and he bolts in. He gets to the 200m and he is just waiting ever so impatiently. He gets to the 100m and his chances are Max Gawnnnnnn. It was a hard watch, it was a shit way to round out a Friday evening, and deadset if you backed Astro Castro and Alpendurada yesterday we are here to support you. But sometimes life is shit, you get what you get and you do not get upset and we load up for another crack at them today!

We’ll keep it nice and short today punters, we’re excited to rip into a high class day of racing and let us know your best bet of the day using the #PuntDrunk throughout your socials! The first isn’t too far away chaps!

Punt Drunk’s Best Bet Of The Day

Saddle Boy was a good runner-up at Eagle Farm last start behind Ingear, who is our best bet at Eagle Farm on Saturday, so the form lines stack up. Prior to that he was a winner at Warwick and a 3.75-length winner at Toowoomba over the 1000m at maiden grade. He stays at the 1000m and should be in a forward position under Bubba Tilley. The Ingear form looks a standout.
