Punt Drunk : Just Like That A New Star Is Born!

Punt Drunk horse racing news & views

Ahhhh the day after Boxing Day, the day where we recover from the 48 hours that was, and put our ass on the couch, watch the cricket all day and flick between Sky to build a nice little bank account leading into the new year!

Despite the Spring carnival being well and truly over, certain results yesterday made plenty of punters raise their eyebrows and in what is seemingly a daily occurrence recently a tin arse punter turned a small bet into a massive collect thanks to a ridiculous multi!

Oh how we hate you 2020.

Winners just win!

Sure, 2020 has been a bit of a shit year which is an understatement. But arguably one of the best stories to come from it is that of The Harrovian! The QLD champ put together his 11th consecutive win in the Listed Bernborough Race in remarkable fashion! He looked to have been cooked coming up to the final furlong, but just like us all on Boxing Day morning he got off the canvas pushed the rivals away and got the job done! He then had to back it up and get it done in the stewards room, but the protest was quickly thrown out as if it was a Lynx shower pack.

A new star is born!

When you go within a second of breaking track records at both Bendigo on debut and then Caulfield in your second career start then plenty of eyes will be on you! That’s the case for the Mick Price trained Ayrton who absolutely shit it in yesterday afternoon at Caulfield in a ride where Jamie Kah barely had to lift a finger. Price is set to send him to the paddock and has high Group 1 aim’s for his rising star in the Autumn and who’s to say he can’t go on with it in a few months time?

2020 delivers again

Caller Matt Hill summed it up perfectly as Pandemic took out the listed Christmas Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. Now we weren’t necessarily on him a day full stake in our preview for the race, but we had him as our “next best” tip in the Christmas stakes. It just shows you how lovely the #GreatGame is, sometimes it just takes a Pandemic to realise it.

Christmas fill up for a lucky punter

All week we have been showcasing some huge wins in Punt Drunk and Boxing Day was no different for one lucky punter. The TAB announced a $10 multi became a $56000 collect for one arsey bugger to help kick on his Christmas celebrations. Miraculously, the punter had the blowout of the day at Caulfield in Defibrillate salute at $41 odds as his last leg. It’s safe to say he old mate may have needed an old defib pack after refreshing his account!!
