Caulfield trainer Mick Price will have Group One runners in Adelaide and Brisbane.

Mick Price doesn’t have the training numbers of Darren Weir, Chris Waller or Lindsay Park but he will have representation in two upcoming Group One races.

Oregon’s Day runs in Saturday’s Doomben Cup and Secret Agenda contests the Goodwood at Morphettville while he will also be represented at Flemington.

“We’re not doing too bad for a small stable,” Price said.

The Caulfield trainer says with the Weir-trained Gailo Chop missing the Doomben Cup it is the perfect opportunity for Oregon’s Day to win a Group One race.

The mare is coming off a last-start victory in the Group Two Hollindale Stakes (1800m) at the Gold Coast on May 5.

“The pleasing part about her is she’s got that genuine distance in her between a mile and 2000 metres and that opens up a heap of options for her,” Price said.

“The way she finished off the Hollindale was really pleasing.

“I think 2000 metres, around Doomben will be great for her and I think she’ll be a live chance to win a Group One.”

Price said Oregon’s Day galloped strongly in Brisbane on Saturday morning and would be ridden by Jim Byrne who was aboard when she was successful at the Gold Coast.

Dwayne Dunn has been called on to ride Secret Agenda in the Goodwood with Damien Oliver riding last year’s winner Vega Magic.

Oliver rode Secret Agenda when she ran second to Shoals in the Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville on May 5.

Price said Secret Agenda galloped well on Saturday morning under Dom Tourneur on the Morphettville Parks track.

“She’s trained on well since her Sangster run and will take her place in the Goodwood, no problem,” Price said.

Price will also run Miss Admiration in the Group Three South Australian Fillies Classic (2500m) and She’s So High in the Group Three Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville while Queensland-owned Bassett runs in the Group Three BRC Sprint (1200m) at Doomben.
