Leg 1 – R70 Handicap (1500m)

Bookmakers have installed Tessabelle as the early $2.80 favourite after back-to-back wins at Sandown Lakeside and Hillside. The Mark Kavanagh-trained mare rises up in grade again for this which is a concern, but it was won its last two by a combined margin of six lengths and it will go close.

Ma Jones was only a length behind Statton last start, but it rises up 3kg for this run and faces a good field. The Darren Weir-trained mare won its only start on this track and it looks an improving type. The $3.80 on offer is a touch short for our liking, but it’s worth including in quaddie bets.

Include Native Land ($21) and Claudia Jean ($6.50) into calculations. Native Land mixes form and throws in the odd win at nice odds, whereas Claudia Jean is dropping down in grade and gets in with a handy weight of 55kg.

Quaddie picks: 2, 3, 7, 10

Leg 2 – Tab 3YO R70 Handicap (1600m)

Loyalty Man is an improving three-year-old for Michael Moroney which finished fourth in the Stutt Stakes five starts back and has won twice since. The son of Fastnet Rock won its maiden by 2.75 lengths and it won on the Hillside track last start in rating 64 grade. Jake Bayliss takes 3kg off its back which brings it into contention at $5.50.

Burton is the current $2.70 favourite after winning by 11 lengths at Ballarat last start. The David Brideoake-trained gelding is out of former talented New Zealand mare Nahayan and it relished the rise in distance to the mile last start. Drawing barrier 16 will force it to drop back, but it looks a strong chance and its price should stay steady.

Quaddie picks: 1, 7

Leg 3 – Polytrack R64 Handicap (2100m)

Vandancer looked the goods two starts back at Pakenham, but it failed to handle the rise in class at Sandown last start. The Michael Moroney-trained filly drops back to rating 64 here which suits much better and the rise in distance looks ideal for the daughter of Savabeel. Glen Boss stays in the saddle and the $4.25 looks like good each way value.

Chris Waller lines up Scandal Sheet which has been well backed at $4.50. The three-year-old is coming off an impressive 1.75-length win and it’s another which will enjoy the step up in distance. Sired by Shocking is a good sign for the 2100m and it will pay to watch any further market moves.

Eolande should be included based off its last start fourth behind subsequent winner Bengal Cat. The form out of its last start at Sandown has stood up nicely and this is a much easier affair. It did pay $71 last start and it’s much shorter at $7.50 for this, but it looks a capable type ready to win again. Carries only 52kg.

Quaddie picks: 10, 12, 14, 15

Leg 4 – Le Pine Funerals R70 (1300m)

Michael Moroney could pick up another win with Lord Barrington in the final leg of the quaddie. The four-year-old gets an ugly draw of 19, but it beat a handy field of five runners last start and it should only continue to improve this season. Jordan Childs takes some weight off its back and the $12 is good value.

Nullei has yet to win this campaign, but its last two placings look like good form guides. It ran second on this track two back behind talented grey Rock Forthe Ladies and it wasn’t far behind Caprese at Moonee Valley last start. It does tend to race a little one-paced, but at $9 it’s worth including.

Heza Ripper and Stella The Boss have both drawn wide, but both represent good winning chances. The market has both runners at $6 and with some luck they could come into contention.

Quaddie picks: 5, 9, 11, 12
