Pakenham quaddie tips and specials for Thursday, September 21

quaddie of the week

TWO quaddies in a week? The team at HorseBetting certainly know how to spoil our readers.

To complement our Tuesday Wangaratta quaddie we travel to the outer suburbs of Melbourne and the polytrack of Pakenham for an entertaining eight-race card.

Plenty of familiar names around this Thursday and we’ll take a stack of confidence into the late week meet.

Race five on the card is the Pakenham Produce benchmark 58 over the 1600m trip, which kicks off the quaddie at 3.30 pm.

Race 5 – Pakenham Produce BM58 (1600m)

Reigning In Paris might have failed in its last two runs but this is a horse that has serious ability and form over the mile trip. Having won twice and playing a further three times over the distance the five-year-old knows what it takes to win. The mare is no stranger to Pakenham either after placing twice across four runs on the polytrack.

Nurburgring is looking to go back-to-back on Thursday, which will complement the September 5 run at the same track and across the same trip. The horse has placed five times from nine attempts at the mile and and tasted success twice. Providing it finds a nice slot from a somewhat wide barrier it will be right in the mix again.

Desimaan has been racing in tremendous form without getting the elusive break-through. Having finished within a length of the winner in three of its last four races it is certainly putting itself into the equation. Although this is the first attempt at the 1600m distance we think it may be crying out for the additional ground.

Race 6 – XXXX Gold BM70 (1000m)

The speedy Whycatchim comes into the race after a short-let up and we are expecting a big performance. The horse has missed the placings just once across five attempts, and has won on two occasions. The wide barrier will present no problems as it possesses blistering early speed and we think it is ready to add to its already impressive racing resume.

Hayes and Daberning horse Royalic has been in great recent form and will be right in the mix from the outset from barrier four. Winning at Geelong over the same class and distance just under a month ago proves it has what it takes to take this out and the short let up since that August 25 run should prove beneficial.

Robbie Griffith runner Something Violet has an opportunity to bounce back hard at Pakenham. After going down by less than a length and half last time out at the same track the horse jumps from an ideal gate in barrier three and will be vying to make it two wins from seven attempts.

Race 7 – Stabil-Lime Group Company BM64 (1200m)

Although it has barrier 11 to overcome, Valrouz is the clear class horse of this field. Placing 15 times and winning five of those races across this 1200m trip, the mare also returns to a familiar track where it has saluted in more than 25 percent of its attempts.

Kafoo is in wonderful form and has great form over the polytrack. Winning on August 22 and placing second twice at Geelong, the horse has no issues negotiating a synthetic track. The horse possesses enough early speed to find a good spot from the inside draw.

Jumping from maiden grade into a benchmark 64 is never easy but Princeton Spirit’s win suggests it can make an impact after the debut win. The four-year-old will experience a slight jump in the weight it carried first time out but barrier five will mean it gets a good run in transit and anything close to that August 25 victory will see it in the mix here.

Race 8 – Sportsbet BM64 (1400m)

Trinity Hill gets the right race here to make a breakthrough after third placing following two fourth-placed finishes. The daughter of Iffraaj is making headway every start and looks ready to win after a highly competitive run behind Samovare at the Valley on September 9.

Famelist has placed in back-to-back races this preparation and may have found the right race to take it into the winner’s circle. Having recorded two wins at the track and two wins across the distance the seven-year-old has the ability to win and we think Thursday might be the day.

Mai Shiny Choice has not had conditions to suit lately, but if all goes according to plan there is no reason it will not be in the mix here. The horse has won exactly half of its four attempts at track and distance at Pakenham, and the gelding has experience winning at benchmark 64 grade. Will need some slight luck jumping form barrier nine but the form reads well for this race.
