Pakenham night racing tips for Thursday, February 8
PAKENHAM racing is back this Thursday night.
The night racing fixture is always a favourite of punters and Thursday’s card will be no exception.
Let’s take a look at the tips.

Race 1 – Maiden Plate (2550m)
Dazzling Rain has been making great in-roads this preparation and has placed second in back-to-back events. On January 18 the horse failed as a short-price faovourite, but still gave a great sight. We’re backing it in here.
Race 1 tip: Dazzling Rain to win at Neds
Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1000m)
Seized gets a tough gate to overcome but a quality first-up record of two placings from as many attempts boosts our confidence greatly. In a maiden event where not a lot stands out we think it is a great chance to break through here.
Race 2 tip: Seized to win at William Hill
Race 3 – Benchmark 64 (1000m)
Last-start winner She Keeps Nosecret is poised to go back-to-back here. The horse beat a smart type Mylex in that maiden event and is likely to improve further on that first-up run.
Race 3 tip: She Keeps Nosecret to win at Ladbrokes
Race 4 – Maiden (1400m)
In five-straight races Trigger Point has finished inside the first-four, four of which were placings. The horse gets a great gate to jump from, which will count for plenty in a 16 runner field.

Race 5 – Benchmark 78 (1600m)
Ashlee Marie will lead in a small field and take a world of effort to run down. The five-year-old hasn’t been great this preparation, but it progressed well from the first-up run to the second and has won and placed third-up in the past.

Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)
Missile Boom drops in grade here and will benefit greatly from that fact. The horse was ordinary at Caulfield last-start, but before that the Smart Missle product had won well at this grading. If the horse gets away from the barriers smoothly and settles in the run it will be winning this event.

Race 7 – Class 1 Handicap (1600m)
She’s A Headturner has placed in three-straight races and is well placed to do well again. The Daliapour mare gets in good weights and will be right in contention in the penultimate.
Race 7 tip: She’s A Headturner to win at Crownbet
Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1200m)
Trump This is second-up, where it has won at in the past. The son of Domesday resumed well on January 24, finishing within a length of the winner at Benalla. This represents a slight rise in grade but we think Trump This is well within contention.
