Race 1 – Pegasus Leisure Group Plate (1600m)

Punters should always be weary of the international runners and Not Only Florina looks a chance for Lindsay Park. The daughter of Makfi comes over from France with three wins under its belt from seven starts and it defeated the highly-touted Endless Summer in the Prix Occitanie. That’s strong form so consider it here.

Dulverton was only narrowly beaten at Flemington last start behind race rival Hell or Highwater, but it could turn the tables. The Robert Smerdon-trained five-year-old is a five time winner at this distance and although dropping back from 1700m won’t suit, the smaller field should.

Race 1 tip: Not Only Florina to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 2 – Legacy Badge Appeal Handicap (1100m)

Lyuba is unbeaten fresh up for Darren Weir and that could continue here. The five-year-old has won both starts to date and makes its resumption having finished fifth last start at Morphettville. The five-time winner hasn’t won for awhile now, but it’s weighted perfectly for this and it could take advantage.

Modern Wonder also makes a return to racing having been off the scene since April. The Corstens-trained mare ran against some nice types including I Am a Star and Merriest and despite a poor form line, it didn’t have much luck. This is easier and it should get the run of the race.

Race 2 tip: Lyuba to win at Topbetta.com.au

Race 3 – Beveridge Williams Plate (1100m)

Tango Rock has always had above average talent and it returned to form with a solid placing last start. The Michael Kent-trained gelding won back-to-back races at Ballarat to kick off this campaign before running poorly at Sandown two back. It made good late ground last start at Caulfield and it should be ready to fire again with the 3kg apprentice claim.

Toy Boy shouldn’t be overlooked down the bottom of the page. The Greg Eurell-trained four-year-old won easily on debut by 2.25 lengths before running within a nose of Ken’s Dream on this track. It didn’t have much luck in the Euclase Stakes at Morphettville before heading for a spell, but this is easier and it might be the forgotten runner.

Race 3 tip: Toy Boy to place at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 4 – Ramlegh Springs On Clyde Handicap (1600m)

Melbourne Cup aspirant Big Duke returns to the track having run third in the re-run Sydney Cup at Randwick in April. The Weir-trained six-year-old has been all class throughout its 13 start career, winning six and placing in six. Despite wanting more ground than this and carrying a big weight, Big Duke should be well-received with bookmakers.

10-time winner Rhythm To Spare was dominant in victory at Flemington last start and it could continue its winning ways. The Michael Moroney-trained eight-year-old was a winner at Caulfield in April when beating American import Fastnet Latina by 3.25 lengths and it could pay to strike while the iron is hot.

Race 4 tip: Rhythm To Spare to win at Bet365.com

Race 5 – Winslow Group Quezette Stakes (1100m)

Blue Diamond winner Catchy is back in action and it brings the class factor. It runs against a red-hot field here, but the Lindsay Park-trained filly has had only one failure from five starts and that came on a bog of a track in the Golden Slipper. Conditions suit much better this Saturday and many punters will be expecting a winning return.

Stablemate Ploverset made a big impression when beating Madeenaty on debut before running third in the Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Flemington. The daughter of Street Boss was beaten by Shoals on that occasion and that’s strong form for this. It has drawn to get all favours and we think it could get a drag behind its stablemate.

Race 5 tip: Catchy to win at Ladbrokes.com.au

Race 6 – KS Environmental Vain Stakes (1100m)

Kobayashi didn’t show much in its first two career starts, but it scored two impressive wins at Caulfield to close its maiden campaign. The Corstens-trained colt won on this track by 2.25 lengths before winning the Redoute’s Choice Stakes by three lengths. It has the gate speed to cross from out wide and the betting interest will determine its winning chances.

Jukebox has plenty of quality and it vitally missed the run in the rain-affected Golden Slipper. Missing that run might have it better off this campaign than a few others and the unbeaten colt looks to have more wins in store. Craig Williams takes the ride and it will likely start close to odds on.

Race 6 tip: Jukebox to win at Topbetta.com.au

Race 7 – Charge Of The Light Horse P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m)

Black Heart Bart is a course specialist at Caulfield having won five of its six starts. The 16-time winner hasn’t been seen since running fifth in the Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm, but the conditions didn’t suit on that occasion. Running the 1400m is ideal for the seven-year-old which has bigger spring targets in mind this season.

Lankan Rupee was gallant in defeat behind Ability last start in the Bletchingly Stakes and it warrants serious attention here. The Mick Price-trained eight-year-old has had an injury troubled career, but it looked back at its best last start and it has won at Caulfield on four occasions. This distance is a new target, but it looks capable of seeing it out.

Race 7 tip: Black Heart Bart to win at Topbetta.com.au

Race 8 – Lister Regal Roller Stakes (1200m)

Vega Magic returns having won the Group 1 Goodwood in May and it usually finds form early in its preparation. The Lindsay Park-trained former Perth runner has beaten some handy horses over its 15 start career and it looms as a major winning chance here. Drawing wide with weight isn’t ideal, but this isn’t a group one-quality field.

Savanna Amour didn’t enjoy the heavy track in the Bletchingly Stakes, but it might have needed the hit out and its form prior was good. The John Meagher-trained four-year-old has won and placed at Caulfield and from barrier 12 expect it to settle back and come with a big finishing burst.

Race 8 tip: Savanna Amour to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 9 – Thebigscreencompany Plate (1400m)

Portman was a disappointment last start at Flemington, but it scored well prior to that and we’re sticking with it. The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding stays in this grade and with senior rider Craig Williams back in the saddle, it could improve significantly. A dry track would significantly help its chances.

Nesbo was a winner on this track last start and although it paid $41 to win, it looms as a winning chance again. The Dean Krongold-trained eight-year-old likes this track and it’s an underrated type at this level of racing. Don’t sleep on Nesbo as it’s drawn to get all favours.

Race 9 tip: Nesbo to place at CrownBet.com.au
