Noblet fillies chasing Adelaide wins

Melbourne filly Super Cash will make her second interstate trip this month when she travels to Adelaide for the Redelva Stakes.

Trained by Andrew Noblet, Super Cash made her Sydney debut when fifth in the P J Bell Stakes at Randwick on the opening day of The Championships.

Noblet is looking for a firmer surface for Saturday’s Listed race at Morphettville, saying the soft track in Sydney helped bring about her undoing.

“She’s come back from Sydney really well after having no luck,” Noblet said.

“She wants to be on top of the ground rather than on the track she raced on up there.”

Noblet went to Sydney confident he had Super Cash in top order after her impressive victory in the Moomba Plate over 1100m at Flemington on March 12.

Punters also thought she had a good chance as she was heavily supported, firming from $7 to run the $4.80 favourite.

After being in last position early, Super Cash ran home to finish less than three lengths from the winner Tempt Me Not.

Noblet will see how the filly performs in Saturday’s 1100m-Listed race before deciding her next target.

The options are the Group One Sangster Stakes for fillies and mares or the Group Two Euclase Stakes for three-year-olds, both over 1200m at Morphettville on May 7.

“There’s a couple of options for her but we’ll see how see goes at her next start and work it out from there,” he said.

Stablemate Silent Sedition will also make the trip to Adelaide to contest the Group Three Laelia Stakes (1800m).

After scoring back-to-back wins at Cranbourne and Bendigo, Silent Sedition finished second to Bengal Cat at Sandown on April 9.

Bengal Cat franked that form with victory in Saturday’s $250,000 Gold Reef at Caulfield.

“I was happy with her run and she’s pulled up really well,” Noblet said.

“Back to different conditions and a better track it will suit her ideally.”

Noblet is aiming the filly at the Group One Australasian Oaks at Morphettville on May 7.
